About Us

Cooltah was established as a dairy in 2000 by David & Marsha Shibble. We dairy farmed on our property for 16 years before dispersing our milking herd and selling part of our farm to our neighbours. However, our love for the Big Brown Cow continues and we still produce a selection of Brown Swiss cattle whilst we expand our Braunvieh Beef enterprise.

Originally started as a dairy herd of Brown Swiss & Holsteins. We introduced Braunvieh beef to our enterprise several years later as a means of diversification with the part purchase of the Malanda View herd from the Atherton Tablelands. Some Braunvieh X animals were also bred over a select few Brown Swiss cows.

Today we produce both Braunvieh & Brown Swiss animals in the Upper Hunter Valley region of NSW. Cow families have always been important to us and we strongly believe that this is the secret to reliable and successful breeding. We want "user friendly" healthy, happy animals that can adjust to any environment and feeding system for our clients.
