Breeding Program

Black Braunvieh - Part of our program has been to introduce black Braunvieh genetics into our breeding system with the introduction of Tee-Jay Black Duck semen. He is naturally polled as well. Our first calves were born early 2016. We will continue to use black Braunvieh genetics over some of our females.

Original & Fullblood Braunvieh - We source Original Braunvieh semen from Swiss genetics and source other genetics from the US and Australia. We aim to produce low birth weight calves that have the potential to gain weight rapidly. We want animals that can perform in any environment.

Brown Swiss - Cooltah Blooming Stacey - now owned by the Wake family at Singleton. Second highest priced animal at our milking herd dispersal. We use a combination of Swiss, North American & Australian genetics. We look for Brown Swiss sires that will give us consistancy throughout our herd. Sires must transmit good rumps and high quality udders with the will to milk.

Angus x Braunvieh - We also operate an Angus x Braunvieh commercial breeding program producing 1st cross offspring. Angus sires are used as paddock matings after we have finished our insemination program. These females will be later joined back to black Braunvieh genetics to continue the black & polled theme.
